Felony dispositions
Travis L. Elder, 25 of Carterville, plead Not Guilty to Aggravated Domestic Battery/Strangle. Those charges were reduced to Domestic Battery/Physical Contact; he was found Guilty and sentenced to 24 months probation, 21 days in jail with credit for time served and alcohol treatment in force
Anthony P. Oliver, 58 of Marion, plead Not Guilty to Possession of Amount Controlled Substance Except (A)/(D); case dismissed on State's Motion. (Many times you see these charges are a simple case of not having prescription medication in original containers and when prescriptions are produced, charges may be dismissed. Not saying this is the case in this particular incident.)
