More truckers who probably shouldn’t have CDLs have a wreck on I-57 south of Salem

MARION CO., Ill. - A three-truck wreck on Interstate 57 in Marion County earlier today snarled traffic for house, and probably could have been avoided if trucking companies would hire people who fully understand English and could comprehend the rules of the road.

But unfortunately, as we learned more than a year ago from separate sources in the field of semi and truck repair, that's not what's happening...trucking companies are repeatedly hiring "immigrants" from different countries who are willing to accept lower pay for the job...and in exchange, the trucking companies are definitely getting what they paid for.

Illinois State Police in District 12 Effingham advise that the three-semi crash with injuries occurred at 12:20 p.m. today, Thursday, September 6.

Preliminary investigation shows that a silver 2016 Volvo truck-tractor being driven by Yazid Abdullah-Ali Al Nobi, 28, of Dearborn, Michigan (of course. I mean, where ELSE would he be from? Flint, maybe) was traveling northbound on I-57 at mile post 112.5, approximately 4 miles south of Salem.

A black 2014 Volvo truck-tractor being driven by David Peter Etiang, 49, of Toronto, Ontario (Canada, for the public school grads) was traveling southbound on I-57 at milepost 112.5, passing a white 2017 International truck-tractor being driven by Joel Sanchez Moreno, 35, of Nuevo Laredo in the state of Tamaulipas in Mexico, in the left lane.

Al Nobi's (who knows if that's his last name or if his last name is a derivation/compound of some of the other names) vehicle blew a front steer tire, lost control, and entered the center median while traveling northbound.

Al Nobi's vehicle then struck both of the other two southbound semis in the trailer axles four and five, removing both axles from both Etiang's and Sanchez-Moreno's vehicles.

Al Nobi's truck came to final rest across both southbound lanes of traffic on I-57.  The other two semis continued south and came to final rest on the right side of I-57.

Al Nobi and a passenger with an equally not-American name, Mohammed Hussein Mohsen, 24, of Detroit, Michigan (of course. I mean, where ELSE would he be from? Except Dearborn or Flint, maybe) were transported to Salem Township Hospital by Marion County Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the Mexican vehicle, Gerardo Munoz Lopez, 39, also of Nuevo Laredo, was apparently uninjured.
