Arrest made after call for domestic fight in progress; Indiana man taken into custody

PALESTINE, Ill. - The Palestine Police Department was called to a domestic fight in progress in the 400 block of E. Franklin Street just after midnight today (Sunday, September 2.)

Chief Jeff Besing and Officer Jacob Baxter were dispatched to the fight and after their investigation, a male subject identified as Nicholas E. Orman, 32 of Hymera, Indiana, was taken into custody and charged by Officer Baxter with Domestic Battery, Battery, Interference with Domestic Violence Reporting and Criminal Damage to Property over $300.

Orman was additionally charged by Chief Besing for Theft under $500 and Unlawful Possession of Another's Debit/Credit/Identification card from a previous investigation on August 31 by Chief Besing where Orman used the victim's debit card and removed cash from her bank account.

Orman was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was charged, processed and is being held in lieu of bond being set by a judge.
