THOMPSONVILLE, Ill. - A pleasant Sunday drive took me to the K&D Thompsonville Cafe at 21470 Shawneetown Road in Thompsonville for this week's foodie excursion.
A charming country decor added just the right ambiance for a pleasant dining experience.
The full menu restaurant with two dining rooms also features specials like yesterday’s Sunday dinner, which was Chicken and Dumplings with two sides; or Baked Ham.
Be sure and bring an appetite because the meals are anything but skimpy and my waitress was very accommodating to meet all my needs. The owner was so nice and kept checking on me also.
My dinner consisted of Chicken and Dumplings (as shown above), coleslaw and pickled beets and half cut tea, with White Pie for dessert.
It was definitely a delicious Sunday meal. Check out the size of that bowl of Dumplings. Even a toddler at a table across from me was enjoying those dumplings so I knew they had to be good.
