MARION, Ill. – A woman whose online griping about recent coverage of meth crimes in Williamson County got a little heavy-handed lately has been busted for – you guessed it – meth.

And not just any meth, either, but the highly-refined ice version, this according to authorities who made the bust.

The Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit arrested Marranda K. Booton, 27, yesterday (Monday, July 30) relative to a previously-initiated methamphetamine investigation.

During the course of the investigation, a traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of E. Allen Street in Marion. A search of Booton’s vehicle revealed crystal “ice” methamphetamine, weighing equipment and a TASER.

Then, said MPDNU, things got worse for Booton.

While at the Marion Police Department, Booton attempted to destroy her cellular telephone and threw sit, striking an officer in the head. Booton was subsequently issued citations for Possession of Methamphetamine, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer and Obstructing Justice.

Booton was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail awaiting her first appearance in court.

(We didn’t get a mugshot, but we figured snagging pics off her Facebook page might tell more about the gripe-y Ms. Booton.)
