FAYETTE CO., Ill. - A citation has been issued following a two-vehicle collision yesterday morning north of Farina.
Illinois State Police report that the incident occurred at 7:45 a.m. yesterday, Friday, July 27 at 7:45 a.m.
ISP said that a white 2011 Ford U-Hault truck being driven by Alexander W. Gary, 23, of Hazel Crest, was northbound on Interstate 57 at milepost 137.5, approximately two and a half miles north of Farina. With him was Ronnel Harris, 20, of Champaign.
A blue 2011 Freightliner tractor with trailer being operated by Michael Garrett, 57, of Hazel Crest, was also northbound. With Garrett was Brandon Allen, 22, of Country Club Hills.
ISP said that the U-Haul crossed the center lane boundary and rear-ended the trailer the semi was hauling.
Brandon Allen sustained minor injuries in the impact and refused transport to a medical facility.
Alexander Gary was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
