CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - The motorcycle rider who suffered a horrific crash this past Friday died of his injuries Saturday.
Friends of Randy Cox, 58, of Robinson, advised that Cox died of his injuries on Saturday (July 21) at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. The accident occurred Friday evening shortly after 5 p.m., when Cox was riding his motorcycle on Highway 33, lost control on the big curve west of town, and the bike flipped end-over-end, throwing Cox from the vehicle.
Cox, it's being reported, was a public servant, being captain of the Crawford County Rescue Squad, as well as president of the Robinson Fire Protection Board.
There's a visitation for him being held this Saturday, July 28, at Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson from 3 to 7 p.m.; burial will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions are being accepted and will go to benefit the Crawford County Rescue Squad.
