WHITE/GALLATIN COs., Ill. - Authorities within law enforcement in White County and the City of Carmi have confirmed that Zachary Shock, one of three men who made a jailbreak from that county jail, has been apprehended as of this evening.
Shock, according to Sheriff Doug Maier, was spotted by a citizen of Gallatin County walking along a roadway in that county, called authorities, and Shock was apprehended, without incident.
No further details have been released by Maier, other than Shock is in custody at the White County Jail.
U.S. Marshals have been searching for Shock, along with another inmate, Johnny Tipton, since they managed to break out of the jail three weeks ago this morning, on June 16. A third inmate, Justin Bray, was captured a short time after his escape with the other two.
Shock is facing murder charges in neighboring Hamilton County dating back to September 2016.
