MARION, Ill. - The Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit (MPDNU) has had another successful case go to charges.

Official reports indicate that yesterday (Thursday, June 21), the MPDNU was contacted by a concerned citizen that had recently recovered their previously stolen cellular telephone. The citizen advised that they had continually been contacted by an unknown person attempting to sell them methamphetamine.

MPDNU detectives were able to identify the subject as Joshua M. Hornback, 27, of Cobden.  MPDNU then utilized the previously stolen cellular telephone to arrange the purchase of methamphetamine from Hornback in Marion. Detectives were able to intercept Hornback's route of travel into Marion and obtain probable cause to initiate a traffic stop.  The traffic stop occurred in the 2600 block of W. DeYoung Street.

During the traffic stop Hornback was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Hornback was then conveyed to the Williamson County Jail with pending charges for Delivery of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
