WAYNE CO.—Illinois State Police (ISP) District 19 released information concerning a personal injury crash, which occurred in Wayne County early this morning (Thursday, June 13, 2013) at approximately 12:32 a.m.
According to Illinois State Police District 19, troopers investigated a personal injury crash on Illinois Route 15 near Wayne County Road 200 East , involving a 1999 Ford F-250 truck.
The preliminary traffic crash investigation indicated that the 1999 Ford truck, driven by Phillip Ray, age 35, of Johnsonville, was traveling eastbount on Route 15 near County Road 200 East when he drove off the roadway left (north). Ray began to drive the vehicle back onto the roadway when it began to overturn. The vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to final rest upright on the South side of the roadway.
Ray was transported from the scene by the Wayne City Ambulance to Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt Vernon for treatment of his injuries.
In addition to the Illinois State Police, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Wayne City Fire and Rescue responded to the crash scene.
