Mt. Carmel Police reports, June 1 through 4, 2018

MT. CARMEL, Ill. - Wabash County's biggest burg has released their police activity report, covering arrests made June 1 through 4, 2018.

On June 1, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brandon H. Rayborn, 33, of Mt. Carmel, after he was stopped in the 900 block of North Walnut Street. Rayborn was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license and was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of bond.

Also on the first, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Charles R. Leonard Jr., 53, of Evansville after police responded to a reckless driver complaint on Rt. 1. Police located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The arresting officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage odor coming from the driver and requested he submit to field sobriety testing.  Leonard was subsequently arrested for DUI and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was cited for DUI, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. Leonard was held pending the posting of bond.

On June 3, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Nathaniel A. Anderson, 40 of Albion, after he was stopped by MCPD Officers. The vehicle Anderson was driving was called in as a reckless driver. Police located the vehicle in the 400 block of West Ninth Street and made contact with Anderson. The arresting officer reported smelling an alcoholic beverage odor coming from Anderson. Anderson was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was giving a citation for DUI. Anderson was held pending the posting of bond.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested Autumn R. Mays, 20, of Albion, that same day. An officer on patrol observed two male subjects he thought were in an argument behind a home in the 900 block of Walnut Street. Mays was at the residence and when police asked for her information, it is alleged she provided the arresting officer with a false name. Mays would later tell police she lied because she had warrants out of Edwards County. Police transported her to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with Obstruction of Justice and she was served two warrants out of Edwards County.

And on June 4, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Austin J. Comer, 23 of Mt. Carmel, after the vehicle he was in was stopped by Mt. Carmel Police. Comer was arrested on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant, a failure to appear warrant for possession of cannabis out of Jasper County, and a manufacture and delivery of cannabis warrant out of Richland County. Comer is being held pending the posting of bond on all three warrants.
