WHITE CO.— A Carmi man who thought it was a good idea to make little extra cash by selling drugs online maybe to cut out the overhead was sentenced to six years in a federal prison Tuesday (June 4, 2013).
According to published reports, Michael Phillip Jackson, 40, was sentenced in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida after pleading guilty.
Jacko sold Adderall for three years, 2009 to 2012, to a woman in Florida operating an illegal internet pharmacy.
Federal authorities say that Jackson knew that his partner in crime, Lina Rodriguez, resold the pills through her illegal business headquartered in southern Florida.
Ms. Rodriguez was sentenced in April to six years as well.
Both Ms. Rodriguez and Michael Jackson are required to serve an additional three years supervised released once they are finished enjoying the finer amenities of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
MJ started his criminal antics (in White County, anyway) with a charge of Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, which was dismissed.
In 1994 he was arrested and charged with Burglary and Theft. He pled to the theft charge and was fined $434.
In 1997 he was busted again for underage drinking this time earning a conviction and being sentenced to one year conditional discharge and ordered to pay $325 in fines and fees.
With the drinking habit he obviously had, the fact that he was convicted of a DUI in 2000 came as no surprise to anybody.
That one cost him another $1,077 in fines and fees.
Interestingly, unlike so many crims on the dockets these days, Jacko was able to PAY all of his fines and fees, as he could afford it, making all that Adderall drug money and all.
In 2006 he was divorced by his wife Carrie Jo Jackson, who was represented by Gregory K. Stewart.
We’ll keep you up on MJ’s status when he gets back into the civilized world, because as you know, being “Bad” can come with a price, doesn’t matter if you’re “Black or White,” and with federal raps you know it’s hard to “Beat It” so there’s no “Thriller” ending to this story.
Pile on, if you’d like….we’re all a little “Off the Wall” here, you know.
